The word is out that
Chief Bode George former Governor of Ondo State and deputy national chairman of
the People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria (PDP) has thrown his hat in the ring
to contest the vacant seat of the national chairman of PDP. Bode George in
pursuance of this determination has since picked his Expression of Interest
form at the Wadata Head office of the Party.
But a source within the
PDP hierarchy has described the move as “selfish”, citing Bode George
antecedents. “What is Bode George coming to contribute to the nation?”, our
source who prefers to remain anonymous queried? The source said he was of the
opinion that Bode George should just throw in the towel or hang his boots since
he has nothing more to offer to Nigerians—except corruption, nepotism,
tribalism and hatred! “Are there no youths in the PDP?” asked one Emeka Ezuego.
He went on to attribute PDP’s failures in the past to this “strong” addiction
to “old brigade” syndrome.
