“Palliatives” or  “Bailout” the Nigerian way!
James Hardley Chase  remains one  of the most thrilling novels ever written.  One of them, “so what happens to me”, comes to mind vividly, as a masterly narration of an amateur crook who was used to swindle some corporate clients only for him to end up being duped!  The same is the story of some political leaders in Nigeria!  No opportunity ever passes without crooked schemes being introduced – especially in programmes affecting the masses.  Take 2012, for example, when some parts of the nation experienced massive flooding, and the issue of “palliatives” was mooted. It turned out later that N100 million was “released” to the affected States through their State Governors; what happened? The money vanished into private pockets! Next was SURE-P –another laudable project; but the same fate befell this programme! It became a conduit for siphoning almost the entire funds.  Still on “palliatives”, in the closing days of ex-president Jonathan, Governors, shouted, cajoled and got him to share the savings from “sovereign funds accounts’  Now, the talk is “Bailout funds” with all the money being routed through the same 'governors"!

AIR PEACE BOSS GETS SUPPORT FROM DIASPORA CHIEF URGES CAUTION

Chairman of Air Peace Airline Mr. Allen Onyema, accused of money laundering in the United States,   has received massive support from Network of Concerned Nigerians In Diaspora(NCND) and their Local counterparts Network of Concerned Nigerians for Good Governance. The popular groups called on the Federal Government to do all it can to ensure that the air peace boss is not unnecessarily implicated. The calls were made in statements signed by the chairman Comrade James Erebuoye and Secretary General Mr. Suleman Ahmed and released to our reporters. The duo believed that Mr. Onyema has done a lot to raise the bar for passengers travelling by air and also raised investors’ confidence in Nigeria. “Such a man who is concerned with safety and health standards of travelers as well as invest in the Nigerian Environment should not necessarily be victimized”, stated Comrade James. “The Federal Government should do a thorough investigation and ensure that this is not another case of Pull-Him...

BISHOP DAVID ANGEL, A.K.A. BAZOOKA, BRINGS RELIEF TO TROUBLED FAMILIES IN KETTI

. The Bishop is young, vibrant and full of vitality; once he mounts the Altar, let’s say 10.oclock in the morning, he hardly gets down till hours later; he conducts Service with consummate passion, enthusiasm and rapt attention to minute details; he quotes the scriptures eloquently, sings to the admiration of the worshippers and preaches with fiery candor that reminds you of the inimitable father of prosperity.. Bishop David Oyedepo! What a coincidence, the younger and the old bear the same name! What follows next follows next is prophesy, prophesy upon prophesy! He says “if there is a man to pray there is a God to answer”! Not done, the young powerful man of God is angry: “This error must be corrected”, he charges when service gets hotter. The “error” he is talking about are legion: protracted barrenness, stagnation, limitation, unexplained difficulties, poverty and a life of non achievement! Many of the worshipers are those who are tired having visited several churches and Pastors...
