UPROAR OVER PAYMENT OF N2.8BN SEVERANCE PACKAGE TO FORMER CJN


 The Disciples for Good Democracy has flatly condemned the payment of a hefty N2.8billion Severance Package to former CJN Belgore describing it as crime against the country.

Addressing the Press recently, the Group’s Secretary-General Comrade Joseph Idabor said the anti-graft Agency, EFCC must take every step to recover the loot calling it unjust, inhuman and bestial.  “In a country where the government finds it difficult to pay N30, 000 Minimum Wage, somebody is collecting such a hefty pay packet”, Comrade Joseph roared.

“We can’t sustain this; we can’t accept it”, he added.  The former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Alfa Belgore is however a regular visitor at the EFCC for another alleged breach.

The Independent Corrupt Practice and Other Related Matters Offences Commission (ICPC) were set as an anti-corruption agency to rein in persons involved in suspected shady deals and sharp practices.
