PUSH AGAINST V.P CONTINUES, AFENIFERE WAITS



Events unfolding in the last 48 hours against Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of Nigeria may not have gone down well in certain quarters, especially Afenifere, the Pan Yoruba Socio-cultural Group.  On Thursday, strong indications emerged that some aides of the Vice President are to be deployed out of the Presidential Villa and seconded to some Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

The report also indicates that the Social Investment Programme which comprises the Trader Moni Initiative, N-Power, School feeding programme and others are to be whittled down.

The Welfare programme is expected to be placed under the newly created Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Spokesman for Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin said the Pan Yoruba Cultural Group was studying the situation and would not muddle issues, though he admitted that what has happened is that the V.P’s office has been rendered impotent, useless and irrelevant.
