BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU CONSOLIDATES AS SMART NEW LAGOS TAKES SHAPE

The Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu has continued to receive commendations across board  for fulfilling his commitment to deliver all critical projects inherited from past administration, the latest coming from the Abuja branch of the University of Lagos Alumni,  Mr Alex Oboh who praised him for “ delivering on his campaign promise.” Mr Alex commended the governor for adopting this strategy pointing out that this was a panacea to his successful tenure in office urging him to do more. “Government is a continuum; we have heard people say, projects executed by previous administration should be abandoned; that’s not correct; they are Nigerians  who did it and they worked for government; its only personalities that changed—not the Institution”, he stressed.  Hailing the governor as “Great Akokite”, the Alumni boss stated that they were not surprised because Sanwo-Olu was a tested professional who has held several high profile offices from being special adviser, acting commissioner for economic planning and budget, commissioner for commerce and industry, managing director of the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) and now governor of the State. “This is experience you can’t buy in the market; you earn it—and display it”, said Alex.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been forging ahead remarkably with his “Smarter and Greater Lagos plan” and he has devoted energy and time to turn dream to reality. His 100 days in office singled him out as a governor with the heart and patience to build on the legacy of his predecessor in office.

STOP THE ILLEGAL DETENTIONS IN ICPC NOW BUHARI TOLD

The Independent Corrupt Practice and Other Related Matters Offences Commission (ICPC) were set as an anti-corruption agency to rein in persons involved in suspected shady deals and sharp practices. But in recent times as investigations have revealed The commission appears to have derailed as it is fast losing that tag as an anti-corruption agency.  Preliminary investigations have unearthed some sharp practices of illegal detentions on spurious charges, unauthorized raid and sealing of victims houses and unwarranted blockages of victim’s accounts. “This bad practice must be discontinued” declared Mr Rafiu Ibrahim, Secretary-General of Association for Good Governance and Transparency (AFGT). Throwing more light on the sad development, the Secretary-General wondered why the ICPC would detain without charges any suspected Nigerian for upwards of two weeks without proceeding to court, while systematically extorting various sums of money from the detained Nigerian.  The Secretary-Ge...
