GROUP RAISES ALARM OVER PLOT TO RUBBISH AMBODE


A prominent Group known as the Abuja League of Patriots have raised alarm over plots by certain amorphous elements to rubbish the hard earned reputation of former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.

The Group in a statement released by its Group President, Alhaji Ismaila Yakubu stated that the same elements that prevented Ambode’s second term and worked harder to derail his ministerial ambition have now perfected plans to rubbish his image by linking him with some sharp practices.

The Group allege that underground moves are being made to link the former Governor with some ill-gotten louses, a claim which has since been debunked by his former Press Secretary, Aruna Habib.

However, sources close to the former Governor have since distanced himself from any wrong doing insisting that he served the people of Lagos State very well.

“You should know that the former Governor was Accountant-General for many years before becoming the Governor, so he must have  lived above board”, declared Alhaji Yakubu.

Akinwunmi Ambode was the subject of praise by President Muhammadu Buhari when he commissioned many of his projects in the last days of his administration stating “Your Governor has performed and I am very pleased with him”.
