PLOT TO DEFEAT OBASEKI AT THE PRIMARY THICKENS

Barring any other unforeseen circumstances, the stage is set for the defeat of Mr Godwin Obaseki at the forthcoming APC governorship primary to decide who picks the ticket for the election. The plot to prevent him from securing his second term in office has been concluded.  Our reporters gathered from credible sources that even the results for the primary election has been determined.  A popular double chief from Uromi, in Edo South with close links to Oshiomole has been assigned the role to deliver a wealthy oil magnate of Benin extraction.  He  has been anointed to carry the party’s flag for the 2020 election by the Abuja politicians and the remnants of the renegade House of Assembly members presently ensconced  at Zeus hotel, Mabuchi, Abuja, also owned by a retired army pay master and former guber candidate also of Benin extraction.  Our reporters gathered that a popular thug whose name sounds like ‘’kabaka’’ has been detailed to spearhead the rout of Obaseki during the primary.  Infact Obaseki is to be scored ‘’O’’ in Edo South and Edo North Federal constituencies respectively, disclosed our source who prefer anonymity.
In recent days, the All Progressive Congress (APC ) National Chairman Adams Oshiomole has become emboldened voicing out his anger openly against Obaseki; only last week he stressed that some people he referred to as “agents of destabilisation” are out to rubbish his achievements during his tenure as governor of Edo State. The 30 billion naira Storm Water project was mentioned.  The central hospital Benin had been previously cited.  These are pointers to the raging war between the ‘’godfather’’ and ‘’godson’’, whatever this means. Mr Obaseki is however not resting on his oars. Sleeping with one eye open, the governor has gone about making sweeping changes disbanding his cabinet and reconstituting them in his favour including dismissing 250 Senior Special Assistants and Special Advisers. This is seen as measure to consolidate his hold on power.
