The
acute dearth of insecurity now pervading the Capital City took its toll on an
innocent Nigerian who was murdered in cold blood on Thursday, 26th
September on his way back from work. The
Nigerian, named withheld, had no inkling that his life would be snuffed out
that fateful day.
As
was recorded, sources say the victim was heading back home that fateful day in
Lugbe, Federal Housing Authority area, when an Okada rider reputed for notoriety,
especially in these days of tramadol brushed his car. It was late in the evening and as expected,
hot argument broke out, during which the colleagues of the Okada rider
gathered. Sensing danger, the victim
abruptly ended the exchange of words and ran home. But reports say the Okada hoodlums mobilized,
traced his house and stabbed him to death in cold blood. There was, sources say nobody to help. Nobody to make frantic 911 call; no security
presence. And so an innocent man passed
on needlessly! It took men of the
Nigeria Police 24 hours to show up, but by then it was already too late.
