The Senate Committee in charge of Oversight functions for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has decided to go tough on suspected corrupt officials believed to have made operations difficult. The Committee has given the nod to investigate all contracts awarded from 2012-2015, many of them fully paid for , but never executed. The Senate now wants to find out who and who got jobs but failed to deliver. The Chairman (Dr) Senator Andy Uba , according to The ExposeNews finding is of the strong opinion that there were "insiders" who colluded with contractors to defraud the Commission thereby robbing the people of their hard earned tax-payers money. The contracts run into billions. Already, a Special Prosecution panel has begun secretly to sniff around the Finance section of the NDDC to gather facts before summoning indicted officials for questioning. All bank accounts and schedules are also to be investigated. The NDDC has been a cesspool of corruption in the past five years and observers fear that the Finance department is neck deep involved in these unpatriotic acts. The Senate has about 3 weeks to complete this assignment before making the report public. Feelers around the NDDC indicate that officials are trying to lobby and cover their tracks. President Buhari is determined to send all indicted officials to prison once they are caught, investigated, prosecuted .
