FG’S SPECIAL PROSECUTION TEAM TO TRY CORRUPT OFFICIALS

The Federal Government’s National Prosecution Coordination Committee will soon meet to perfect draft charges against several corrupt officials.  According to a credible source that is familiar with the on-going process, the Federal Government is determined to rein in corrupt officials and that this time there would be no sacred cows! Already, through various petitions, those suspected to have looted Government property are being secretly compiled.  A source at the Committee said President Buhari is thoroughly disappointed at the widespread corruption in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies.  “The only way forward now is to prosecute those who have several petitions against them”, said an insider.

In the coming days, Nigerians should not be surprised to see an upsurge in prosecution of corrupt officials.

The Independent Corrupt Practice and Other Related Matters Offences Commission (ICPC) were set as an anti-corruption agency to rein in persons involved in suspected shady deals and sharp practices.
