The Jonathan’s Era: Kleptomania or Plutocracy?

The Bizarre scenario playing out before our very eyes are classical examples of disdain, of deceit, of impunity, unprecedented treachery by our so called democratic leaders. Hidden behind the sultry curtains of officialdom and paraphernalia of office, these elected leaders without any shred of conscience, bereft of any morals and filled with obdurate pride conspire needlessly to loot our collective natural wealth. Under the unprincipled conspiracy of launching one phantom project or fighting a supposedly national cause, these brigands and their shadowy collaborators in sheer recklessness commit all manner of fraud, forgery under the presumed cover of darkness and shamelessly dash the hope of millions of law abiding hungry Nigerians. Like operating plutocracy...a government for the rich, by the rich and on behalf of the rich, leaving Nigerians between the devil and the deep brackish seas!
Otherwise, how would anyone explain the circumstances? While bombers were threatening Abuja, the federal capital, and insurgents ominously encircling the northern states and butchering hundreds at will, our leaders who ought to know and well advised, capitulated to greed. They took the oath of office for granted, and embarked on this grave venture without regard for the future. Whatever excuse or reason they have to give is without doubt an afterthought.  The scary revelations surrounding Dame Patience Jonathan and her resentful bravado is unfortunate. The paradox here is that she completely forgot that the law exists in Nigeria. Her behavior only portrays her as someone who   tramples on the rights and liberties of the innocent!
Otherwise how can she explain the $31 million in fake bank accounts, ownership of 5 billion naira Abuja hotel, four other choice properties in Port Harcourt and Yenagoa, excluding the large swathes of empty lands and Estates yet to be exposed?  She may not be acting alone in this gambit, but the truth is that these evil acts were committed at a time innocent Nigerians were losing their lives in droves. They were openly lying to a stunned nation while behind the scene stealing the nation blind!  To them, the Buni Yadi Polytechnic massacre, the abduction of the Chibok girls meant nothing. This is how hardened some of our leaders can be.
This, in our opinion is the real crime she has committed—fooling Nigerians. Be that as it may, if the EFCC are to receive any public adulation, they should go further to bring others to book. There are ex-governors who abdicated their oath of office and proceeded to empty their respective State’s treasuries; many of them law enforcement officers from coming after them.
There are shadowy elements in the present and previous regimes that are equally guilty of the same offence. They have to be brought to book. The trauma in the power sector and the painful exodus of over 20 foreign firms from Nigeria are all pointers to the backlash of invidious actions.
If the nation must salvage whatever reputation that is left, they must call their bluff, and insist on severe punishment. This is the only deterrence –not the oft rehashed phrase “Nigerians should be patient and calm”, which, by now, everyone knows is a mere camouflage to unleash further pains!
It should be made clear that Nigeria is running a Government of Democracy--not “kleptocracy”,  if you like—or plutocracy.

WORSHIPPERS THRONG TO KUJE FOR BISHOP DAVID EDOBOR (ANGEL 1)

Kuje, a suburb in the capital city of Abuja is witnessing an unusual traffic: hundreds of worshippers are seen trooping to stadium road in Kuje where Bishop David Edobor, General Overseer of the Joshua Generation Church is blazing the trail, performing spiritual feats, healing, delivering and restoring damaged destinies. The young General Overseer popularly known as “mathematical prophetic” “accuracy bazooka” has declared repeatedly: ‘you can doubt my prophesies, but you cannot doubt the outcome!” Preaching last Sunday, 16 th September, the cleric disclosed that the examination of life has no timetable unlike that of common exams. STOP THE ILLEGAL DETENTIONS IN ICPC NOW BUHARI TOLD

The Independent Corrupt Practice and Other Related Matters Offences Commission (ICPC) were set as an anti-corruption agency to rein in persons involved in suspected shady deals and sharp practices. But in recent times as investigations have revealed The commission appears to have derailed as it is fast losing that tag as an anti-corruption agency.  Preliminary investigations have unearthed some sharp practices of illegal detentions on spurious charges, unauthorized raid and sealing of victims houses and unwarranted blockages of victim’s accounts. “This bad practice must be discontinued” declared Mr Rafiu Ibrahim, Secretary-General of Association for Good Governance and Transparency (AFGT). Throwing more light on the sad development, the Secretary-General wondered why the ICPC would detain without charges any suspected Nigerian for upwards of two weeks without proceeding to court, while systematically extorting various sums of money from the detained Nigerian.  The Secretary-Ge...
