EDO 2020: OSHIOMOLE PERFECT FINAL PLAN TO REMOVE OBASEKI.

Oshiomole vs Obaseki: From friends to foe, the pain of producing a ...For those who think that the bitter rift between Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki and his estranged political godfather is over should better cool it; a thorough investigation emphatically uncovered the concrete plan to defeat the incumbent at the primary to be hosted by Oshiomole’s henchmen. Our source confided in us that since the failed plot to remove Oshiomole as National Chairman, you don’t expect him to just leave Obaseki like that? “Someone who tried to cut your neck, would you allow him to go free” the source questioned. “You should expect heads to roll”, the source disclosed. As a first move, the Chief Akande peace reconciliation committee is going to recommend that Oshiomole’s renegade Assembly men be recalled and sworn in immediately. “That is where the first bobby trap is”, our source revealed. The second plan is to ask Obaseki to drop Comrade Phillip Shaibu as his deputy by June, 2020, if he is to fly the party’s ticket; then at the primary a popular national leader of the APC reputed to be Oshiomole’s main backer will personally be in Benin to ensure that Obaseki is crushed. “Right now as we speak, the “materials” for the conduct of the scheduled primary are already in Benin without the governor’s knowledge”, our source further disclosed. “The results for Edo North will be submitted by Oshiomole while that of Edo Central will be handled by the senatorial leader whose house was attacked recently”, disclosed our source. “Of course you know these men are not on the side of Obaseki”, he added. He went on to explain that the results for Edo South will be split and that would effectively take out Obaseki. “Politics is a game of intrigues you know and just watch out, Obaseki will be left cold on D-Day”, said the source who wishes to remain anonymous. According to inside sources, Obaseki’s major problem is his alleged selfishness; “he attended Eghosa Grammar School but how many people has he empowered?” queried those in the know. They debunked his claim of funding projects using rural people, ward chairmen, etc. “That can’t be true; he has a special knack for ignoring even those that worked for him”, the source continued. Phillip Shaibu received his own share of blame for Obaseki’s troubles. “Phillip is not only unfriendly and a lone ranger, he is having a field day amassing wealth at the expense of those on whose back he rode to fame”, our source added. Infact, the belief is that another 4 years of the duo in power would spell doom for political stakeholders in the State. “Unless Obaseki and Shaibu can crush the quartet of the powerful national leader, Oshiomole himself and the swelling opposition, only then will they be assured of  second term ticket”, said the source. For now, based on the gathering storm a dark horse may emerge as the flag bearer for the APC 2020 governorship race. It is not Ize Iyamu, not Odubu, Not Ogiewonyi. Our reporters tried to contact the duo on phone but were not successful. But an opinion poll conducted within Oredo local government area suggested that the people are sad that they lacked the means to help their governor. “We no get money, the man no dey give people money”, they lamented. “We pray for him and hope that these people no go fit removam”.For now, the question is: who will save Obaseki as he seems to be losing ground. “Unless he brings all supporters together and recognise their abilities only then will his fate be certain”, said our source.

The directive, made nearly two months after the burial, has sparked widespread outrage, with many describing it as a shocking affront to the dignity of the deceased. Imolites are questioning the circumstances under which the ruling emerged, with reactions trailing a media release by Ms. Chinyere Igwegbe (formerly Amuchienwa), the late Chief’s former wife, whose marriage ended more than 32 years ago. Sahara Reporters, Premium Times, The Cable and Modern Journalism

Journalism has continued to evolve since the days of veterans like Professors Alfred Opubor, Onoura Nwuneli, Ralph Akinfeleye, Adidi Uyo, Idowu Sobowale, and other greats, not to mention the shining lights of flawless prose writing like Dan Agbese, Ray Ekpu, Yakubu Muhammed, Dele Gowa, and not least, Olatunji Dare. But the entrance of Sahara Reporters appears to deviate from those widely held pragmatic principles of decency. Stories by our reporters In those days, the Department of Mass Communication of the University of Lagos was very hot and remains so to date. Exciting lecturers in the mold of Dr Adidi Uyo, Ralph Akinfeleye, and Idowu Sobowale made teachings very robust and thirsty to listeners. Students learnt the trade and picked up fast. They taught the tenets of practical journalism exhaustively and left no stone unturned. They made journalism so sweet that students were always hungry to learn more; the thrills were such that even the 13 points cut-off mark for entry ...
