MASSIVE SUPPORT FOR OBASEKI/SHAIBU AS APC FLAGBEARERS.

Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu - Posts | FacebookThe Conveners of the Voice of the Electorate Programme (VOTE) designed to promote the Obaseki/Shaibu ticket as APC flag bearers have commenced moves to educate the masses. To this end, the conveners are to begin statewide awareness and sensitization campaign urging all APC faithful to keep faith with Obaseki/ Shaibu ticket. The creation of awareness which is expected to commence Tuesday, 10th of June will also persuade intending aspirants to shelve their ambition and join ranks with the Obaseki/Shaibu ticket. Speaking at the Sheraton Hotel Abuja, the conveners’ chief of programme Mr. Suleiman Oyofo described the Obaseki/Shaibu ticket as the most viable for now and needed massive support. He said that what Edo State needs at this point is peace and not war. “Those who are trying to cause a change are not doing so for the love of the State; they are doing so to actualize a selfish motive”, he stated. According to him, Edo State people ought to be rejoicing that their son is the APC National Chairman and look forward to the attendant benefits of having such an enviable position. “As national chairman, what we expected was for him to use the position to get Edo sons and daughters into federal positions; there are many vacant positions currently lying fallow”, he said.  The convener said instead, what we are witnessing is flexing of muscles that is bound to produce negative results. Mr. Suleiman insisted that just as nobody is bigger than the State so also nobody is above the law. He decried the situation where a stranger in the PDP--a serial cross carpeter —is brought and imposed on loyal and patriotic party members. “That’s the worst kind of mistake any one could possibly make this 21st century”, he noted. As for the other aspirants, the convener plans to educate them on the need to shelve their ambition and rally round Obaseki/Shaibu and wait for 2024. “That the only alternative for now; they cannot stop the good works of Obaseki/Shaibu adding that their transformational agenda, performance and achievements has really produced results”.  The convener thanked the President and Commander-in-Chief for his fatherly role in this matter. “That’s what is expected of leadership, not the combative type the APC chairman is flaunting. “Nobody can be intimidated; we all have a stake and role to play; without peace there can be no government”, he charged.  The State APC should hold the primary as scheduled as scheduled.  “.
