ONLINE TRUE-LIFE MINISTRIES ZEROS ON BAD LEADERSHIP AND THE CONSEQUENCES

Solid Rock Faith Center | Message Series | Weekly SermonsBrethren, I bring you good tidings today; our sermon is based on bad leadership and its consequence. Specifically, God is wrought with leaders who believe that they are uncontrollable and above the law. God is angry with leaders who subvert the will of the people with impunity. God is not happy and has decided to ring the changes. In Psalm 52, God is saying “why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? God is rebuking those who feel they are mighty and cannot be reined in; those who think they are above the law and are beyond reproach. He said: “their tongue deviseth mischiefs, like a sharp razor working deceitfully. Brethren, our Lord is not happy with leaders who devise mischief at every turn and act deceitfully with sharp tongues; they have oratorical prowess, they have money, position and wealth (stolen wealth) and rather than humble themselves, they are out boasting at every turn how they can do and undo; the bible says “they love evil more than good and lying rather than to speak righteousness”. They love using devouring words such as “I will deal with you; I will remove you from power; I will use police, army and diabolical means to thrash you!” The bible says all that is no necessary. “Vanity upon vanity” says the preacher!  In their boasting they have forgotten God; they rely on the strength of their stolen wealth and abundance of their riches thereby strengthen themselves in their wickedness. Hear the word of the Lord, all of you out there who feel you are a godfather, demi-god or deity: God cannot be mocked; you have offended God and unless you retrace your steps, verse 5, chapter 52, “God shall pluck you out of the living place”. Brethren, this is a strong warning. All of you leaders who pursue abominable courses such as stealing public wealth under the guise of sponsoring electioneering campaigns, bribing delegates, policemen and soldiers; be it stomach infrastructure or otherwise, be careful. Isaiah 5 v. 15 clearly states the fate that befalls them: “and the mean man (godfather) shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled”. This is not what we should take lightly; God is always giving us the chance to retrace our steps; He doesn’t want his people to be led into captivity; God hates cheating; infact, for those who are adamant and wouldn’t listen v, 24 of this same chapter emphatically declares “as the fire devoureth the stubble and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness. Brethren fear God. Who can believe that a single plague can consume thousands and shut down the world? Who can believe that movement would be restricted and human beings made to scamper for safety? A word is enough for the wise, especially those Nigerian party leaders who feel they can act unrestrained. By this sermon, God is reminding them about the impending doom which cannot be diverted; His anger will soon be kindled against them and He has stretched forth his hands to smitten them. Those who have ears let them hear; God cannot be mocked; whatever a man soweth, that he must reap.  Those digging pit for their erstwhile godsons better beware; wisdom is better than weapons of war, and one act of sin destroyeth much good and pride goes before fall! And finally, hear this: “If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgement(the case of Edo State in point) marvel not at the matter, for he that is higher than the highest regardeth, and there be they higher than they”. Brethren, it is an evil disease for God to give man wealth and yet he knows not what to do with it except to deprive the masses of their lean possessions. Judgement awaits them. Just as King Nebuchadnezzar did not escape, they too will not-unless they toe the path of peace-and give out all their stolen wealth to the poor.

Trouble looms over Court order seeking Exhumation of corpse of prominent Igbo Family

A recent court order widely regarded as an assault on customs and decency, seeking the exhumation of the corpse of a prominent Igbo chief, is largely seen as a misuse of judicial authority, and fear the backlash may lead to disruption of communal peace. By Clement Ebaku and Lucy Okulougbo reporting from Owerri. Tension has escalated surrounding the Amuchienwa family following a contentious order issued on 5 December 2025 by Justice I.O. Agugua, directing the exhumation of the remains of the late Chief Ifeanyichukwu Dona Amuchienwa, who was laid to rest on 17 October 2025. The directive, made nearly two months after the burial, has sparked widespread outrage, with many describing it as a shocking affront to the dignity of the deceased. Imolites are questioning the circumstances under which the ruling emerged, with reactions trailing a media release by Ms. Chinyere Igwegbe (formerly Amuchienwa), the late Chief’s former wife, whose marriage ended more than 32 years ago. Sahara Reporters, Premium Times, The Cable and Modern Journalism

Journalism has continued to evolve since the days of veterans like Professors Alfred Opubor, Onoura Nwuneli, Ralph Akinfeleye, Adidi Uyo, Idowu Sobowale, and other greats, not to mention the shining lights of flawless prose writing like Dan Agbese, Ray Ekpu, Yakubu Muhammed, Dele Gowa, and not least, Olatunji Dare. But the entrance of Sahara Reporters appears to deviate from those widely held pragmatic principles of decency. Stories by our reporters In those days, the Department of Mass Communication of the University of Lagos was very hot and remains so to date. Exciting lecturers in the mold of Dr Adidi Uyo, Ralph Akinfeleye, and Idowu Sobowale made teachings very robust and thirsty to listeners. Students learnt the trade and picked up fast. They taught the tenets of practical journalism exhaustively and left no stone unturned. They made journalism so sweet that students were always hungry to learn more; the thrills were such that even the 13 points cut-off mark for entry ...

Arising from the bombshell disclosure by no less a personality than Aliko Dangote on the perceived shortcomings of the embattled managing director of the downstream regulator, leaders of the League of Patriotic Lawyers have taken up the gauntlet to add fire to the disclosure by calling for the release of the names of beneficiaries of the import license.   Stories by Clement Ebaku and Lucy Okulougbo in Lagos.
