PRESIDENT BUHARI’S RETURN VINDICATES THE EXPOSE POLL

The opinion poll which held between Monday 18th and 21st February, 2019 conducted by members of the Expose Communications nationwide which predicted President Buhari 75% chances of returning back to office in a democratic setting has been vindicated by the outcome of the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections. The poll carried out by at least 1,500 field officers spread across the 36 States of the federation became a formidable template for measuring the possible direction the elections would go. The poll showed clearly among others that the slippery nature of Nigerian politics, the betrayal factor as well as the absence of strong political Institutions were going to play major roles in bringing back President Buhari .The poll was overwhelming in the critical role played by the elites with statistics showing  at least 45% of them not voting for Buhari. Furthermore, the poll predicted a shift in the hinterland, the villages , the farmers  with 65% of them favouring Buhari's return. They went on to vote  massively for him. In addition, the poll showed a clear  pattern with 70% of those in the South East and South West rooting for the PDP while only a margin of 30% were expected to vote for President Buhari. The same pattern was observed in the South South where poll results showed a strong preference for PDP. From the poll result it was found out that Buhari’s influence, especially his cult like image will play a sharp role in favoring him rather than money factor. Above all, the poll found out that incumbency factor  would play a major role with a whopping 65% of Nigerians believing so. The poll, contrary to ominous predictions by prophets only showed 25% of Nigerians expressing fears.  65% thought there would be peaceful outcome. However, now that President Buhari has emerged winner, a pilot opinion poll hurriedly conducted within the federal Capital are of the opinion that he should shed his ethnic bias, spread federal appointments, ensure justice, equity and fairness. While 45% of respondents want him to concentrate on provision of portable water supply, 35% wants him to consolidate on provision of regular power supply; the remaining 20% say he should just make Nigeria work again. Also the poll wants President Buhari to ensure free medical healthcare and free education for Nigerians across board. They want the President to open up the country for real-time investors and remove whatever impediment there is to employment. They especially want him to stop perceived secret employments in plum Establishments. Nevertheless, members of the Expose Communications hereby congratulate Mr. President on this democratic victory.
