Nigeria
continues to watch in amazement or is it bewilderment as perpetrators of the
Benue killings, as in Zamfara, Agatu or elsewhere remain elusive. Despite
strong evidence, the killers continue to roam the wilds and threaten more
attacks.
The leadership
of APC, the Police, the Army, all remains unmoved holding Stakeholders meeting,
blaming everyone but themselves while the affiliated groups such as Miyetti
Allah rent the air with more daring chants
Never
before has the country descended to this abysmal level of failure in
leadership. When petty crooks commit their usually hunger driven crime, they
are caught and mercilessly punished. But now the murderous ones, who engage in
brutality, spend hours attacking and setting villages ablaze and yet escape with
the state looking on, you then know something is terribly wrong. “Nigeria must
be a class of people resigned to suffering and punishment”, said Victor Edafe.
“So much bloodshed, blackouts, needless strife over cattle rearing, all because
of what? He cried.
But the
killings continue and the leadership turns a blind eye. It is none of their
business “Now they seek a second term in office” disclosed another fellow; this
is sheer fraud”, he concluded.
