TRUE-LIFE MINISTRIES-ONLINE PREACHING. WHAT NEXT AFTER COVID-19?

Praise the Lord Brethren. Today we shall be looking at Isaiah 42 v. 7. The lord said “I will open the blind eyes and bring out the prisoners from the prison and them that sit in darkness out of the prison hous e”. Oh brethren what a powerful admonition this is. Before I continue, I want you beloved to close your eyes and pray like this: “ powers that has tied me down catch fire now ”, in Jesus Mighty name, amen. Praise the Lord. Brethren it is sheer horror to be thrown into a state of despair, distress by no fault of yours. People who are confined to hellish existence out of no fault of theirs find it difficult to believe in the existence of God, especially those in the nadir of life, hopeless conditions similar to prison. When you cannot eat 3 square meals a day, when you find it difficult to obtain favour; there are circumstances you find yourselves that leaves you confused; you are single and nearing 5o years of age without husband or you are married and twenty years on, no ch...

TRAGEDY AVERTED: YOUTHS IN 40FT CONTAINER CAUGHT IN MAIDALLA

. It was horror show on Thursday May 9, 2020 in Maidalla, a small bubbling town by the Zuba-Kaduna highway. The town is busy all year round and it’s known for its rowdiness. The market-popular for all sort of activities -is located by the roadside and regardless of the huge trucks that ply the road almost now and then, the crowd of buyers and sellers move about, perhaps oblivious of the dangers that lurk around. A few years back, there was a report of a trailer that veered off the road-possibly-as a result of brake failure and crushed some innocent souls. But the threat continues to this day, since no one, including federal authorities have found the will to shift the market inwards and save future disasters that is sure to happen given our penchant for carelessness. On this day, however, the sun was high and the heat intense; we were trapped in the brutal traffic caused by policemen who were said to be as usual, enforcing the “no movement” order. The air was stiff and be...

EDITORIAL: SETIONALISATION OF FEDERAL APPOINTMENTS

. The continuous sectionalisation of federal appointments have become so worrisome that the question now is: what is the motive behind these decisions? If they are for promotion of good governance, then it falls far short of expectations; if it is for acceleration of government’s projects across the country, which also misses the mark. This is a country of over 200 million and with diverse tribes and yet decisions like these are daily taken without due consideration to the feelings of other tribes. Whatever the reasons behind them, definitely it does not augur well for national development. The lopsided decisions convey the impression that a large majority of other tribes are insignificant or less qualified. Taking the matter further, you need not dig far to know that the skewed decisions are based more on parochial reasons rather than the federal constitution. “Those behind these decisions apparently don’t follow the constitution” said Idris Yusuf, a graduate of law from the Nigeria...

EDITORIAL: GBAJABIAMILA AND THE CONTROVERSIAL INFECTIOUS DISEASE BILL

. The bill sneaked into the House of Representatives, passed the first and second reading and was eventually halted on its dirty tracks on the verge of the third and final reading. The laughable side to this ugly drama was that members neither received advanced copies of the bill nor were they allowed to go through the contents. But we reject this anyway; we do not want to agree that members compromised their conscience either.   And when the Speaker was to respond to critics he said Nigerians misunderstood the good intention of the bill. The same bill is about now being ferried through the senate although the last heard was that former Deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ekweremadu has temporally induced a halt for the time being citing its unpopularity. Nevertheless, no amount of financial inducement should have allowed them to attempt such horrible exercise without consideration for the lives of millions of Nigerians including theirs that would have been lost.   Th...

TWO PRIMARIES LOOMS IN EDO AS APC SPLINTER GROUP ENDORSE IZE IYAMU.

. The prospect of any likely settlement between the warring Edo State APC factions appears to be bleak with the reported endorsement of Pastor Osaze Ize Iyamu by the Edo People’s Movement (EPM) the factional arm of comrade Adams Oshiomole. And with this audacious move the die is cast. As it seems, the road to hosting two primaries now looms with the result predictable even before the whistle is blown. The results for the Oshiomole’s faction would be accepted by the national leader who has implicitly endorsed Oshiomole’s project of replacing Godwin Obaseki’s administration. Once the result of Oshiomole’s faction is upheld, Obaseki would be told to go to court; of course while that process is on, the APC would then consolidate-unless if  the courts did not entirely yank off APC from the race as happened in Rivers State. “We have tried to make Oshiomole see reason but since he is adamant, there is nothing anyone can do but to face him” said a disappointed party faithful....

INTRIGUES, BITTER RIVALRY, ENGULF EDO PEOPLES MOVEMENT AS PRIMARY NEARS.

Intrigues, suspicion and bitter rivalry appears to have engulfed the camp of the Edo Peoples Movement ahead of the scheduled June 2, Edo APC primary which may be shifted to on or before  June 25.   The subject of confusion is the alleged clandestine plan by the national chairman to impose an unpopular candidate on the party apparently because of his perceived popularity, a decision which has not gone down well with majority of the supporters. “How can somebody who decamped from another party be the choice of the national chairman?” queried one Fredrick Eigbokhan, a staunch party faithful of the Edo Peoples Movement. “He was in PDP and was accused of immoral character; he was detained by the EFCC for misappropriating 700 million meant for electioneering campaign; what now makes him the rightful choice to replace obaseki” asked Mr Fredrick ? He went on to tell our reporters that for all they care, somebody may be taking them for granted.” We will resist another imposition; we...

ONLINE TRUE-LIFE MINISTRIES TODAY: BETWEEN THE PREY, MIGHTY AND TERRIBLE

Brethren, I bring you Calvary greetings. Our sermon today is taken from Isaiah 49 vs. 24 and 25. The bible asks in v. 24 “ shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? ” Big question, as we try to distinguish between what constitute the prey and the lawful captive. Some of us in our society today are preys to those who wield enormous power. Maybe you have been engaged in fruitless search for gainful employment for years and under that condition, the faint hearted might easily become a prey resorting to self-help for survival. You may also be a lawful captive given a situation where you occupy an office, possibly an elected one, but stripped of the powers to make crucial decisions.  You are a lawful captive-like the case between godfathers and godsons. You are a lawful captive when you are elected into political office and commanded to dance to the pipers tune; your refusal like the numerous cases we have today is bound to spell doom and attract repri...

END THE RIFT NOW AND BECOME HERO, GROUP TELLS OSHIOMOLE

. As the June date for the Edo State APC primary draws near, some Abuja based Leaders of Thought under the aegis of “Advanced Professionals Association” have once again called on the National Chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomole to soft pedal, show maturity against his estranged political godson and use the opportunity to become a great hero. The group under the leadership of Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed said this is the time for the national chairman to toe the path of peace and not drag this conflict to its logical end. “We want Oshiomole to have a rethink; we don’t want him to drag this matter further as if there is any trophy to be won”, said Barrister Ibrahim. “Obaseki is a human being and does not deserve to be humiliated; all those struggling to replace him are merely after themselves and their own welfare”, he stated. Specifically, Barrister Ibrahim referred to one Dr. Pius Odubu whose campaign posters are everywhere and cautioned him to drop his ambition describing it as unhealthy...

DESISTS FROM ANTI-TRUMP ACTIVITIES, AMERICAN PRESS TOLD

. There are two strong proverbs the American Press seems to have forgotten: one is that    “when one hand washes the other they both get clean” and the other-perhaps more crucial to this topic is”a blind man’s dance is only appreciated once; a second attempt reminds people of his blindness”! The manner the American Press has gone over the President Trump era amounts to nothing but sheer madness. Most guilty in this blind pursuit are the CNN, Washington Post and New York Times. The trio have all thrown professionalism over board and it is clear to discerning observers that their mission is anything but sinister. No opportunity is missed to haul insults under the guise of “correcting” their President, be it at critical national moments or when he is attending a World summit or any other crucial occasion. The insults have become such that they have lost their meaning. “I don’t like watching the CNN anymore”, said one Chris Abuda a self-employed consultant. “It is a disgrace; ...

EXCLUSIVE: FEARS AS ABUJA AND LAGOS GANG UP TO CONDUCT EDO APC PRIMARY.

When next you see the acclaimed national leader and his party’s chairman whispering in the dark, hold it; they are not planning for your welfare but how to deny Obaseki the coveted APC guber ticket. This is all evident in the “mock” primary recently conducted in Benin with armed policemen and soldiers in the toe. For in that very action, it is clear the forthcoming primary is going to be everything but credible. Not with this kind of daring confrontation right there in the lairs nose. It is strange that Benin sons and daughters have become lame ducks subjected to manipulations by the unforgiving demagogue from Abuja who derides himself as the Almighty god of Edo politics simply because of the lust for political power and wealth.  The ominous silence from the seat of power is another angle to this dangerous gambit. This is sheer insensitivity.  This breach is coming at a time the world is taking stringent measures to curtail the tide of a gruesome disease; this is coming...

CLERIC SPITS FIRE PREDICTS DOOM FOR OSHIOMOLE IN BOTH ONDO AND THE EDO APC PRIMARY.

If the predictions of a popular Abuja based cleric is anything to go by, then hard times await the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress comrade Adams Oshiomole. The cleric, Prophet Joseph Odunsi who accurately predicted the emergence of the covid-19 pandemic has again prophesised, this time on the forthcoming Edo and Ondo States primaries. “I see the APC national chairman begging for survival after defeat in both the Ondo and Edo primaries”, he declared in a statement issued to press. “God has decided to teach him a lesson he can never forget in a hurry”, the cleric stated. “If there is anybody who knows Oshiomole, they should go and tell him to hands off both primaries”, he added. Prophet Odunsi lamented that despite God’s decision to give him a second chance as the APC national chairman, he has refused to repent and instead is determined to act as Pontius Pilate. “Oshiomole has no power except the one given to him by God”, the cleric explained; but now, like He did to ...
