UNCERTAINTY HANGS AROUND NEW NDDC BOARD

There are fears of uncertainty hanging around the newly nominated board of the Niger Delta Development Commission; insiders believe that powerful forces are scheming to undermine their being sworn in for purely selfish interest. Those working to ensure their abrupt termination or frustration are not happy that their ward is not at the helm. Now, although the senate has cleared and confirmed the nominees dark clouds still hovers as a powerful son of the soil who is also an influential operative at the corridors of power appears to have put is foot down to disrupt proceedings. The ball is now in the court of Mr. President to wield the stick and allow the board to commence sitting by December. “If truly the welfare of the people and the development of the region is paramount, there is no need for these differences”, stated Mr. Kenneth Okoh a professional contractor and leader of the South East Professional Union.

MOURINHO BECOME NEW SPURS BOSS, OVERCOMES WEST HAM

Jose Mourinho has been named the new Tottenham Spurs Head Coach.   The controversial Coach variously nick-named “The special one”, the “humble one” has since assumed duty and has gone ahead to notch his first two victories against WesterHam and Olympiacos. The London derby incidentally proved to be Spurs first “away”     since January 2019. Mourinho is known for his negative tactics of “parking the bus”, but a credit to him is his ability to win trophies where ever he went. Mourinho has sat in the dug-out as head Coach for Read Madrid, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester United, etc.

BIODUN FATOYINBO DECLARED INNOCENT

Flamboyant and stylish Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Ministries (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo has been declared innocent of the rape charge preferred against him by the Dakolo’s.   The court had thrown out the case on lack of merit, which vindicates the position earlier held by this media.   “How could you have proved an incident that happened 20 years ago and even in a family house?” questioned a source at the court premises.   “You can see that they merely wanted to pull this guy down”, the source added. At the Guzape Church premises, in Abuja, Church members were seen jubilant and praising the name of God for his mercies.   “You cannot just come out and frustrate an innocent man”, observed a Church faithful.

YOUTH TELL DINO MELAYE TO SHUT UP

Youths from the Kogi State West Senatorial District has told Senator Dino Melaye to stop crying wolf, where there is none.   The Youths, obviously supporters of Senator Smart Adeyemi called on Dino to concentrate on the November 30 supplementary poll, where a send-off awaits him.   The previous election on Nov. 16 had been declared inconclusive by INEC. The Youths under their leader Ozigis Jimoh lashed out at Senator Melaye for being garrulous, reckless and unmindful of the people’s feelings.   “This is a man who populated the 8 th Senate with his brothers and associates”, he stated.   “Now he is coming out to talk about the masses; does he know them at all?”

OSHIOMOLE BLAST PHILLIP SHUAIBU

The embattled APC National Chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomole has blasted his political godson Rtd. Hon. Phillip Shuaibu for being very ungrateful. The embattled National Chairman made the disclosure during an informal meeting at his country home in Iyamho, in Edo State. Obviously disappointed, the APC National Chairman lamented the day he decided to groom the Deputy Governor.   “That’s a man rejected by his people; he couldn’t deliver his boot; but I had to beg, plead on his behalf”, he told his audience. “Today, that’s the same man running me down. If I was dead and was told in my grave that this boy could do this to me, I would be turning in my grave today”, he lamented. But the leader of the Etsako Youths Vanguard has hit out against the APC National Chairman, calling him an autocrat. The leader, Alhaji Rilwan Yakubu bashed Oshiomole for his arrogance and repeated efforts to stifle democracy by promoting godfatherism and sponsoring mediocrity.   ...

SCRAP SENATE CALLS INCREASES

The Right Group Committee for Transparency and Smooth Governance (CTTSG) has again called for the scrapping of the Senate and House of Representatives. The group through a statement signed by its Secretary-General Chief, Ebri Ukagu disclosed that their usefulness has been outlived. Chief Ukagu disclosed that the call is necessary especially when viewed against the ominous silence of the both Chambers in the gruesome murder of the Kogi State woman leader who was burnt to ashes. Chief Ukagu observed that both Chambers have refused to carry out oversight function over the dire state of Nigerian roads.   “All they are after is their welfare, and this is totally wrong”, charged Chief Ebri.   “You can see that they have neglected the roads; neglected power failure and even social welfare responsibilities to Nigerians”, he added. However, from physical and statistical observation, it is clear that the Red and Green Chambers only come alive when matters of their ...

COURT ADJOURNS AMBODE’S SUIT TO JAN. 16

The immediate past governor of Lagos State Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode whose profile has been on the rise would have to wait until January 16, 2020 to see out his case with the Lagos State House of Assembly. The former governor is challenging the Assembly’s obvious political push to implicate him in the purchase of 825 transport buses, a case that political observers believe is just mere witch-hunt. However, since the law courts have put a temporal truce before the January date, it is expected all the parties will realign and bury their differences. The reason is because 2023 is around the corner and if it is true that the national leader of APC is angling for presidency, then all hands ought to be on deck to facilitate that ambition.

NO REPRIEVE YET FOR OBASEKI IN EDO STATE

For Mr. Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo State, reprieve is still a long way. The reason is not far-fetched: The APC national Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole has made up his mind not to cede the party ticket to him—and this is final. And although President Muhammad Buhari has ordered that he be allowed to context for second term in office, political observers believe no one is deceived. If his body language is anything to go by, Obaseki’s days in office may be numbered-unless he resorts to Yahaya Bello’s tactics. Besides, the game plan by Adams Oshiomole to appoint a ‘stooge” APC State Chairman, in the person of Mr. David Imoise, the decampment of PDP Stalwarts to APC and the impending plot to deploy “Abuja Federal Might” during the primary plus INEC’s legendary double face, then you can see clearly the handwriting. “Do you think Obaseki stand a chance if they bring 40-50,000 policemen to monitor the elections? asked an anonymous source. Political pundits believe that Oshiomol...

IZE IYAMU PLAN TO FLY APC TICKET BACKFIRES

Report reaching our news desk indicate that the plot by Pastor Osaze Ize Iyamu to fly the APC 2020 governorship ticket has already backfired.   This is even as the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole has found himself under intense pressure from all corners. The report indicates that Pastor Ize Iyamu has been fingered on numerous underhand deals involving multi-million naira trade off. First, prior to Adams Oshiomole’s acceptance to fly the governorship ticket for APC, he was alleged to have demanded, and received along with his Grace Group a whopping N600 million from Oshiomole.   Now, the same report has suggested that the same Pastor Osaze Ize Iyamu group in the PDP demanded and got an “unspecified” huge sum of money from the same Adams Oshiomole before they agreed to decamp to APC.   “This is how Ize Iyamu operates; he has not just decamped for nothing, and now money is in his pocket”, said an anonymous source.   “You do not expect him to decamp ...

SEARCH FOR FOWLER’S SUCCESSOR HOTS UP AS EXIT DATE APPROACHES

The tenure of Chief Babatunde Fowler, current Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service comes to an end on Tuesday, December 10. And as expected, the race for the coveted seat has begun. According to reliable sources, some powerful forces have been consulting secretly for capable hands to run the affairs of the Establishment and among them was onetime Executive Chairman Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui. Though she is reported to have declined, the chase has been narrowed down to one Alhaji Barau and a prominent northern lady with financial experience. According to further reports, former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode was mentioned, but the source say his name may not fly due to his perceived standoff with a powerful politician from his zone. A top source within government circles however opined that somehow a new appointee would emerge before that December 10 date. Investigations confirm that the fate of the current chairman for second term has been sealed.

RUMBLE IN FIRS OVER FOWLER’S HANDLING OF STAFF AFFAIRS

All may not be well in the apex Federal Inland Revenue Service of Nigeria over perceived mishandling of staff matters. As a result, staff are up in arms bemoaning their faith in the hands of Chief Babatunde Fowler the current Executive Chairman whose tenure expires December 10, 2019. According to reports reaching our desk, the staff are groaning over lack of vacancies in the Establishment created by the chairman’s frequent attitude of bringing in those regarded as “outsiders”. Over time these “outsiders” have filled the vacancies “insiders” are supposed to vie for. Now they hardly write promotion exams.   “I have been a deputy director now for six years and I watch and see how they bring in people from outside”, lamented Mr. Isaac. In addition, Fowler is believed to have cut out all allowances usually entitled to staff, including capacity building overseas. ‘This man has also reduced our imprest and instead he uses strange contractors to supply the same thing that we normally p...

IZE-IYAMU BOOTED OUT FROM PDP, TO FLY APC TICKET?

All may not be well in the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter where there seems to be no love lost between the leaders; the crisis was reported to have been sparked off by Pastor Ize Iyamu’s alleged infidelity. Already the said Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu who flew the PDP’s ticket in the last election has been kicked out. The belief is that he is making underground moves to join the ruling APC, so that he could fly the Party’s ticket in the 2020 election. In a swift reaction, Mr.   Chris Nehikhare, the Party’s Publicity Secretary, dismissed Ize Iyamu’s alleged moves as infantile and selfish. He labelled the Pastor as ungrateful by his refusal to respond to enquiries seeking clarifications of his defection to APC.   “As a result of the “uneasy quiet” from our dear Pastor, the Edo PDP is left with no option but to announce his exclusion from all PDP related activities”, read the statement from Nehikhare. Party leaders in State Chapter believe that Pasto...

OSHIOMOLE SUSPENDED AS EDO APC CRISIS WORSENS

Reports reaching our news desk last night suggests that Comrade Adams Oshiomole the National Chairman of All Progressive Party (APC) may have been suspended from the Party. According to a statement issued by the State Chapter Chairman, Anselm Ojezua, Comrade Oshiomole was allegedly suspended for causing too much problems in the State.   “We don’t want to be treated like Zamfara in the next elections; so with pains we have no choice but to suspend Oshiomole”, stated Mr. Ojezua. One Mr. Lawrence Okah, caught in the cross fire was also removed from office.   The reason for his removal as APC Secretary-General was based on “anti-party activities”. Following this development, APC Chairmen in the 18 Local Government area of the State reaffirmed their support for Obaseki’s Second term bid.

SANWO-OLU HAILED FOR THROWING AWAY “HIS EXCELLENCY” TAG

Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been hailed for throwing away the “His Excellency” tag.   His reason” “Only government officials who have excelled in their service to people should be addressed as such”! The Governor was speaking at an occasion at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Kings Court Parish in Lagos on       October 27, 2019. “I don’t want title in front of my name.   I am actually going to come up with an executive order”, he declared. For this reason, the leaders of the Campaign for Human Rights has christened him “The peoples Governor”. Recall that Sanwo-olu has been making rapid progress in governing Lagos; he has been setting standards and trying to make Lagos a smarter city.

CIVIL SERVANTS EXPRESS RELIEF AS HANNATU FIKA EXITS LOANS BOARD

Alhaja (Dr) Mrs. Hannatu Fika’s tenure at the Federal Staff Loans Board has at last expired and she has left – a huge relief for civil servants!   Reports say while she presided over the multi-billion naira establishment set up by the Federal Government to provide Housing succor for Civil Servants of the federation, a policy, well timed, and monitored by the Federal Government, Alhaja (Dr) Mrs. Hannatu Fika was alleged to have turned it into a personal enterprise. Investigation show that the defacto and undisputed Chief Executive   whose word was “law” in her time, decided to run the Loans Board like an imperial majesty deciding who gets paid or not.   As a result, investigation revealed and exposed her as a patently incredible selective overlord with a fixed purpose on patronizing only a few of “lucky” Estate Developers and some lucky Civil Servants (popularly known as subscribers). Records show that only a handful – not more two – Estate Developers reg...

GROUP BLAMES OSHIOMOLE FOR MINIMUM WAGE DELAYS

Comrade Adams Oshiomole the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman has come under fire for not supporting implementation of Minimum Wage for workers nationwide. In a power packed Press Conference addressed in Lagos, Comrade Charles Afe-Ikaghe, Secretary-General of Democracy Watch, challenged the APC Chairman to come out clean for workers.   “He was Labor leader for many years; now, he is the Chairman of the ruling Party in government”, observed Mr. Ikaghe. The charismatic leader wondered why as Party Chairman he has not deemed it necessary to impresse his Party’s Governors to implement the Minimum Wage without further delay.   “This ding-dong affair is not necessary.   We expected Adams Oshiomole to correct this; he should do more to assist his Constituency”, declared Mr. Charles Ikaghe. The controversy surrounding the Minimum Wage payment has been considered largely as mystery.   “This is a country endowed with so much national resources...
