THE WEALTHY BANKER WHO RETURNED $649 MILLION TO GOVERNMENT.

A wealthy banker in one of the old generation banks …an Executive Director…presently who also served as former deputy Governor in CBN under Sanuci Lamido has returned a giant sum of $649 million to government. The man who is presently in service also owns 115 flashy state of the art cars. Under the former Petroleum Minister Dizieni Allison Madueke, he was said to have  helped her to purchase a property worth over 10 billion in Port Harcourt which was later forfeited  to the Federal Government. He is believed to be so wealthy that sources say he doesn’t want any trouble with the Federal Government. But he was  very close  to Mrs Allison Madueke!

THE NOOSE TIGHTENS AROUND EX-FIRST LADY JONATHAN.

With the conviction of Firms that laundered money for the former First Lady Patience Jonathan, the noose tightens around her neck. The four firms, Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited, Seagate Property Development & Investment Co. Limited, Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Avaloon Global Property Development Company Limited. They are all linked to the former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs  to the ex-President Good Luck Jonathan, Waripamo Owei Dudafa. The EFCC had earlier frozen the accounts where the $15.5 million were domiciled in Skye Bank and seized it in the course of probing Dudafa for money laundering. Patience Jonathan is allegedly under investigation for numerous other crimes bordering on her yearly receipt of 16 billion from the NDDC for contracts that were never executed. She was said to have received that amount for 5 years continuously; she is also under scrutiny for receiving similar amounts from NIMASA, the Presidential Amnesty...

EX-CUSTOM BOSS DIKKO RETURNS 1BN CASH TO FG.

The long arm of the law is catching up with those formerly described as sacred cows. This is all in the spirit of President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to crack down on every suspected corrupt Nigerian. The purge spearheaded by the EFCC has been yielding good results. Now a former Custom boss is in the net; he has just returned 1 billion naira to the Federal Government in addition to having his 2 billion naira worth of mansion forfeited to the Federal Government! The Custom boss Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko had earlier returned a whopping 49 billion and was released on sick grounds. Five of his former Deputy Comptroller General’s retired and indicted had each returned the sum of 10 billion naira each to the Federal Government according to insider sources. The funds were allegedly drawn from proceeds of the 7% cost of collection and !% comprehensive import supervision scheme. He was arrested on June last year but released on grounds of poor health. A source in the EFCC confirmed that t...

THE SHAME OF A JUDGE!

A Judge of the Federal High Court in Lagos who gave the EFCC false information has been caught red handed! The female judge who is facing EFCC charges of acquiring 520 million worth of properties in Park View Ikoyi and Lekki had told the EFCC when invited for questioning that she was sick and in the hospital. The mistake she made was to give the name of the hospital. Soon after, operatives of the commission stormed the hospital—without her knowledge—and caught the hospital staff as they were trying to smuggle the female Judge inside through the back door! What a shame! This shows the extent some hardened Nigerian Government officials would go to tell lies!

EFCC WIDENS INVESTIGATIONS…AS FEAR SPREADS IN MDA’s.

Fear is now the key factor in Ministries, Departments and Agencies as the EFCC spreads its dragnet. The reason is that there is no more hiding space for those fingered in corrupt cases. Nigerians, known for their penchant for lying have now been boxed into the corner by the EFCC. A director of Finance in one of the Pension directorate who allegedly owned 24 houses and disguised them in various pseudo names was swiftly caught. Asked to explain where he got the money to purchase the houses, he said a “family friend” obliged him with loans. The family friend is now in the net for obvious lies! The deed of Agreement he presented was written in someone’s name but the signature was his! The EFCC went ahead to scrutinize all his banking transactions, actual loans borrowed. The company’s he registered were also found to contain names of his wife, brothers, sons, in-laws as directors. “Government officials think they can just perpetrate any crime and go away scot free”, said an insider in EFCC...

EFCC COMMENDED IN FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION

The Economic and Financial Commission has received kudos in their renewed onslaught against corrupt Nigerian Government officials. The praise came from the Chairman, League of Patriotic Lawyers, Malam Abubakar Yusuf. Speaking in Lagos, the fiery lawyer even called for the Bangladesh treatment where corrupt officials are tried for two weeks and thereafter the guilty ones are executed by hanging. "Without such a drastic action, stealing will continue", he declared to the ExposeNews. “The situation where Nigerian Government officials think that they are clever and attempt to hide their ill-gotten wealth under pseudo names won’t work anymore”. He cited the case of Justice Ofili Ajumogobia who bought several properties in Park View Estate and London using fake names although the properties bore her signatures. She is right now in EFCC net. There is also the case of Orji Uzor kalu whose billion naira fraud case has now been charged to court. The lawyer equally hailed the EFCC for ...

SENATE TURNS SEARCHLIGHT ON NDDC.........TO FISH OUT CORRUPT OFFICIALS

The Senate Committee in charge of Oversight functions for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has decided to go tough on suspected corrupt officials believed to have made operations difficult. The Committee has given the nod to investigate all contracts awarded from 2012-2015, many of them fully paid for , but never executed. The Senate now wants to find out who and who got jobs but failed to deliver. The Chairman (Dr) Senator  Andy Uba , according to The ExposeNews finding is of the strong opinion  that there were "insiders" who colluded with contractors to defraud the Commission thereby robbing the people of their hard earned tax-payers money. The contracts run into billions. Already, a Special Prosecution panel has begun secretly to sniff around the Finance section of the NDDC to gather facts before summoning indicted officials for questioning. All bank accounts and schedules are also to be investigated. The NDDC has been a cesspool of corruption in the past fiv...

OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO

I congratulate your Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello, on your pyrrhic election victory as Governor of that land locked State; your victory, you will agree with me is providential in the sense that someone with much more bigger clout than you had to die for you to emerge!  That was simply the work of God. Now that you are there, I want you to know that Kogi State is blessed.  But they have suffered considerably from bad leadership. Please I like you to know quickly that am not from that State, but as a concerned Nigerian who traverse that road enroute my native Edo State, I feel bad as I negotiate the same sorry state of the road, over and over again – for years! Having witnessed the reign of the man popularly called “Ibro”, and his predecessor, Idris Wada, both of whom left office without any direct impact on those roads, I am really scandalized; they both received hefty federal allocation for twelve years; and sadly for those twelve years, they never for once though...

OPEN LETTER TO HON. BABATUNDE FASHOLA

Permit me to go straight to the point.  All protocols observed Sir.  I note your massive achievement in your days as Governor of Lagos State.  And it is widely believed that your appointment as Minister of Works, Housing and Power would witness same admirable face-lift. As down to earth investigating Journalist, we travel a lot and wish to bring to your notice certain critical roads that need your urgent attention. One of them is the Lokoja-Okene highway.  Honorable Minister, the continued state of this road is a serious indictment and slap on the face of whoever is the Director of Federal Highways in your Ministry.  This major artery, as important as it is, has caused several unnecessary loss of lives.  There is simply no excuse for this road to remain in this dangerous state two years into the tenure of this administration.  What then differentiates the APC Government from the PDP, if not prompt attention to vital national assets? Seco...

QUESTIONS OVER $15 BILLION NIGERIA – INDIA DEAL

The Nigeria-India up-front oil payment deal which the Federal Government plans to tackle foreign Exchange Crisis in Nigeria has come under question mark.  In justifying the deal, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu had stated that his intention to search for a market, particularly in Asia and other oil consuming nations was with a view to shoring up naira, while guaranteeing revenue to the Government.  He said the success of the deal would also be a huge help for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to attract foreign inflows to support foreign exchange Market, including the pursuit of Naira-Yuan swap. Nigeria’s external reserves is currently put at $23.9 billion and the Minister disclosed that with addition of $15 billion upfront payment for crude purchase, dollar earnings would be made available for Federal and State Governments to stabilize domestic fiscal condition and current account deficits. However, the President of Non-Alignment Voice f...

JIBRIN FACES DEFEAT OVER CORRUPTION FIGHT

Abdulmumin Jibrin, former Chairman, Appropriation Committee of the House of Representatives appears to be regretting his fight against corruption.  The reason, the ExposeNews gathered is because, Nigerians seems uninterested! So far, all, the former Appropriation boss seems to have gotten since his dirty fight with Speaker Yakubu Dogara is suspension from office, locked office and humiliation.  Despite his earth shaking revelation about the billions of Nigeria’s Tax payers money allegedly shared by the Principal Officers, Nigerians, apparently, having developed thick skins, are unimpressed and have seemingly moved on leaving Jibrin to stew in his own fate. Now, the embattled Jibrin has gone to a Federal High Court challenging his supervision from office.  Jibrin’s ordeal began over allegation that they padded the 2016 budget with about N40 billion. He went ahead to nara The National Assembly has been fingered as haven for corrupt practices, padding of b...

Already, sources informed the ExposeNews about heightened tension amongst Ministry officials and Directors as the CCB turns on full blast.

BUHARI’S ECONOMIC PROGRAMME NOT WORKING – MAN, NLC, ETC

Leaders of apex socio-political cum economic organizations rose  from their separate meetings to announce that Buhari’s economic policies are not working and advised him to come up with “workable” alternatives. The leaders hinged their decision on the lingering economic recession, job losses, high unemployment rate and prevailing hunger amongst others. Lamenting to news media, the Director-General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Dr Frank Jacobs, said the economy had not been favorable to the Manufacturers.  “We are not doing well; things are slow and there are no new investments in the manufacturing sector”. NLC General Secretary, Peter Ozo Eson said the difficulties being faced by Nigerians clearly show that the economic policies of the Government have not been effective so far.  “Government needs to rethink and review its policies in order to ensure that the various difficulties are overcome”, he told the ExposeNews. The Kwara State Chapter o...
